about dog boarding

Each dog has his or her own individual quarter. Each individual quarter is 20 square feet indoors and 40 square feet outdoors. Each quarter is separated by 40 inch high concrete wall. The building is heated with a radiant hot water system for winter or colder days.

We have 5 Acres of land here, which has allowed us to have 3 separately fenced in play areas to accommodate all types of dogs. We generally let all sociable dogs, who do not pose a threat to other dogs to play together in the large field. The extra fields allows us to give a separate field for the older, or more grumpy dogs, as well as another separate field for smaller or more timid dogs.

We fit in at least 4 hours of play time each day for your dogs. This is usually broken up into a quick outing in the morning for a bathroom break before breakfast. Then after breakfast, it's important to let their food digest properly before playtime, so they come back in for another little rest. Then, starting late morning or early afternoon, they get to have a long time of free, supervised play, where they have the freedom to play with their buddies and run around until supper time. After supper, they have another small break until their food has been digested again. And then they get one last quick outing to run around and do their business before bed.

Payment is expected upon retrieval of your pet. We accept credit, debit and cash. No cheques.

Requirements

Our number one requirement is to have proof of vaccination. It is important that dogs have ALL of their vaccinations up to date, including the Bordatella vaccination. This is to ensure the safety of our staff, as well as any other animals staying at the facility. You can get this from your veterinarians office.

We will also need an emergency contact number/email address so that we are able to contact you if needed.

What to bring for your dog

You will need to bring their food with you as changing the food of your pet suddenly usually results in digestive problems, such as stomach upset, and is an unnecessary stress to be added to them while they are already having to deal with being in a strange place. We strive to make this an easy and pleasant stay for them, and this is one thing that helps them immensely. We do keep other food on site in case of emergencies, and unforeseen events, but typically would prefer to use this as a last resort.

We also like to give them a treat at bed time to help them settle in for the night, so please bring their preferred brand of this as well.

It is preferred that they also have their own beds, toys and whatever else you think they may need during their stay.

We would also appreciate an old towel or two for them in case of bad weather. One to dry them off with, and one to place over their bed. This is entirely up to you, but is recommended.

Please let us know if there's any special requirements for your dog. We will work with you to accommodate their needs, and make this the most pleasant stay for them as possible.

OTHER

Unfortunately due to numerous previous issues, we no longer accept Pitbulls at our kennel. As a private business we reserve the right to confirm the breed of your dog, or cancel appointments if we doubt the breed of your dog, or have concerns. We are sorry for your inconvenience, however this is for the best interest and safety of our employees and other customers.
